LOL, NO

Marriage = Life over (for the man, women don't seem to be affected by marriage the same way men are)

I'm not chauvinistic, but it is a reasonable assumption that women know their place, especially in this day and age when we even allow you to use a cooker and extremely hot oven unsupervised. If you are not careful you will burn your pretty little hands.

Congratulations!

Can't comment about the "getting married in..." part since I didn't get married in Vegas, but I can recommend The Signature at MGM Grand as a decent place to stay (at least, it was nice 3 years ago anyway) http://www.signaturemgmgrand.com/

It's just far enough off the strip (you have to go through the MGM Casino to get there) to be a little bit quieter if you need a bit of a break from the 24/7 "Vegasness" of the whole place, plus again because they don't have gaming machines within The Signature itself it generally quietens down in the late evening (and that's pretty key in a city which has gaming machines inside the airport just before each gate!)

If you're thinking about seeing a show, "O" at the Bellagio was the best I've ever seen (and that's quite a few!) http://www.bellagio.com/o-cirque-du-soleil/o-cirque-du-soleil.aspx but of course there's thousands of things to do in Vegas.

You might also want to think of pre-booking a Limo or a stretch Hummer or similar for the ride to/from the airport, as otherwise you have to stand in line for a taxi and that could take 30-40 minutes or more at busy times (most of the time spent waiting is outside, and in December that could be really chilly even in Vegas).

Oh, and there are various companies that run day trips to the Grand Canyon if that sounds like something interesting.

Great place...you get a lounge/kitchen etc
Just behind the Belagio, very quiet but in the middle of every where
Brand new

Shop, bar, one restaurant
No casino......you will appreciate the normallness

There are ticket offices along the strip that dumpe the excess tickets for the nighst shows at upto 50% off. Worth it as so many shows, just turn up and see what deasl are on....we got row 4 tickets in the centre for Cirque De Soleil "Ka"....which is one of the most unbelievable things I have seen. Went to see "O" too.........the guys were on drugs when they made that.

Also goto the bar in the "Oriental MAndariin" - http://www.opentable.com/mandarin-bar-mandarin-oriental-las-vegas

My advice is go for 3/4 days of madness then head out.

BTW, I know it SOUNDS obvious, but the holiday will get expensive very quickly if you gamble - and absolutely everything in Vegas is designed to encourage you to "just have a go"! For example, it's literally impossible to go through a casino in anything like a straight line, because they have deliberate bends and kinks and walls and partitions to turn them into mazes.

Similarly, the signs leading you through a casino towards one of the attractions peter out about half way across, when you're literally out of sight of any exit. You need to count on a good 10-15 minutes per casino just to cross it (and often the best way to go somewhere in Vegas is to go casino>casino>casino>out because so many are connected).

I think the Rodeo is on in the first week of December, so prices of hotels will be a lot higher around then. Having said that the cowboys definitely bring a unique lunacy to Vegas ;)

Check out kayak.com for flights - I'd strongly recommend going direct. It's a long flight as it is, so IMO worth spending a little bit more to go direct. Keep an eye out for Virgin/BA sales.

Hotels - I think that Wynn/Encore remains the best resort. You can often find some nice deals. I booked wynn last week with a promo code WLVAM and got a great deal. You'll notice that prices steepen considerably at the weekend - so consider moving to a cheaper hotel for the weekend (Hard Rock is pretty cheap and fun). Worth checking out the rates on hotels.com and also the hotels direct. As the strip is relatively compact, moving between hotels on a shorter stay is very doable.

Wedding - You'll need to sort out the paperwork downtown (think it's about $80 for the permit that allows you to get married). Then what you spend on the ceremony will range from $100 for no frills to $whatever depending on what you want and where you want to do it.

As long as you keep the gambling under control, I think vegas represents fantastic value for what it is. Have fun!

If you can't decide who to fly with, then you are welcome to visit my cheap flight tickets site and click the Virgin Atlantic banner to find out all about their Las Vegas offerings. Whilst I haven't flown with them, I'd say that Virgin Atlantic's marketing is way ahead of the competition, so that would bode well for their service.

You might want to work on this sales pitch! ;)

Well, I don't fly very often, and I haven't flown to America. What I was trying to say is that as a marketer, judging purely by the quality of their advertising, my first thought about which airline to go with would be Virgin Atlantic. I did like their "James Bond esque" TV ads. I also noticed their product placement when the X Factor contestants flew to Miami. One of the contestants was enthusing about how she had to go upstairs on the plane, and I think they had some video of the bar inside the plane.

Rgds

The upstairs and bar are in Upper Class, which is big bucks.

If you don't like small planes then don't do the Grand Canyon trip! It's about 90 minutes of hell each way if you don't have a strong constitution - loads of turbulence akin to a rollercoaster.

Vegas is great fun though! I spend about 2 hours losing 20 dollars on the really cheap blackjack tables (e.g. 1 dollar a go).

Stephen.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to post especially Edwin it has been a lot of help but what I dont understand is that a direct flight to vegas on a cheap flight or virgin site is the same price as a cheap hotel and virgin direct flight  does anyone else have any site like directflight that I can use again any help would be appreciated

Have you tried www.skyscanner.net. You can see all the flight possibilities priced up and can see if you can get a much better deal by varying you travel details by a few days.

Stephen.

Thanks for all the help so far but does anyone know if they are cheaper internal flights to Las Vegas once you get to a US airport as they treat internal flight like we treat getting on buses and what site can you find them once again thanks in advance for any help giving :p
