Dear All

Auction was put last after Robert M. very kindly increased my auction limit, I did however promise him to put some premium names on his auction site.

https://ukbackorder.com/vps.uk/auction.html

This name reached 4 figures in the CatchTiger pre-drop auction.

This auction closes within the next 24 hours - so get your bids in!

Will be interesting to see where this ends up soon - lots of people 'hovering' it seems :p

vps is a great name. Easy to monetise - you could set up a solid income. Alternatively great to resell to enduser at later date. This is my favourite - it's just a shame I can't buy it :p

This is all more exciting than the cricket yesterday! Well for me anyway!

Instead of pricing predictions... how many auction extensions will this have... has it hit +1 hour yet?

The extensions are quicker now than they were. If a high bid is placed in the last 10 minutes then the auction is extended to maximum 10 minutes. Lower bids do not extend the auction unless they are placed in the last 90 seconds and then only to 90 seconds. Everyone is so impatient lol.

If 525 is who I think it is... their proxy is probably in the xx,xxx range... so this is going to be like the Wimbledon mens finals of old and run on forever at this rate....

Lol well if people just set their maximum bids and walked away the auction wouldn't get extended. It's the buyers doing it... :p

Indeed... but we don't generally set the maximum and walk away... psychology doesn't work like that. I've personally missed out on so many domains when i've been outbid by £100 of the price I'd set. I'd have stretched the extra £100 to win the domain... so you just end up sitting there... pushing your max up :)

On the lower value stuff, set and forget. Won, great, didn't win, not bothered :)

Is this going to take the number 1 spot in my Recent Sales list :p

93 seems to think that sniping/last minute bidding will work?

Standard tactic, bore the other bidders until they give up / have to go to a meeting / need to drop the kids off at the pool / whatever. That genuinely works, if I was ever bidding on domains like this I would 100% wait until the last second every single time.

It was painful watching the auction drag on, but a nice price.
