Been,there seen it ,done it, got the t shirt, lost the t shirt etc etc. What you say is entirely correct, you just never know. You might think it paranoic but the authorities are constantly scanning forums like this for info .

Yep, but might have been tactical ,i.e. if you include an ISP etc as defendant to your claim you know that they will at least initially defend it and have the cash/insurance to do so, whereas with "mrs bloggs" you can be sure they wont have the money to throw at it,

Maybe they did a deal whereby they coughed up the IP address / identity of the poster and removed the material in return for not being "taken up the steps".
