irooms watersport bargainshopping bargainbasement, missed them all, knew I'd loaded too many when added the fifth.

Thanks Dave. Completely off my radar, looks like they will end up on Domainlore.

Were listed in 'Advanced Bids' for weeks.. ;)

Thanks. As a suggestion, could that list be seen by registered users only (have to be logged in)? I suspect someone saw the £1K for ipods and decided to renew it in the last hours.

Well, if you leave possibility of a last minute renewal.. - advanced bid was put by someone less than 24 hours before the drop. I can only think that someone regular (i.e. a member) @ DomainLore could have noticed it and rushed to contact the owner. There is no way owner would realize it on his own. Unless he also visits auctions and saw domain he forgot to renew.

It could have been the Registrar that renewed it, without the owner doing a thing.

Most Registrars poke around these places.

The owners of the ipods name own 8500 generic domains, see here: Sitefinders Portfolio

I don't think they would have let that drop, they probably leave a lot of them to the last minute to renew them, just to annoy catchers :)

@ Lee, isn't it cutting your nose off to spite your face by trying to catch so may each day, surely it's better to go for one or two of the best ones maximum, then if you get lucky with those, load the others if they have not already dropped?

From memory, it was half way into that drop day.

Well done on the watersport domain Grant!

Cheers Dave - upgrading my commodore 64 to a 128 has done wonders for my catching script :)

Sometimes yes sometimes no, sometimes you get lucky with the rotation, didn't make any money when chasing one a day for a week, have to even it up some days, most days.

one I believe was a "no longer required"

Both dissolved companies. Have Nom got a direct link to Companies House these days, they've got really cute at deleting them? They're spoiling it for cold callers now!

@ Lee, there's a UK sweets company who use that fruit name for their business, it says on their "about us", page, see below, I'm sure you'll be straight on to them :)

Within the last three years Tangerine's turnover has increased from over £40 million to £150 million and continues to grow in line with the popularity of our products. This mass appeal, together with seven UK production sites employing around 1500 people, makes Tangerine the largest independent sugar confectionery manufacturer in Europe.
