im trying to upload my site but cant because of the following three ftp errors.
i havnt got the foggiest as to what these mean or how to fix it.....please can anyone help??

200 type set to I
227 entering passive mode
550 index.html: permission denied

Only the last one is an error code, the first two are just status messages.

Anyway, you have a permission error, which means the destination server doesn't think you should be allowed to write a file to the location tried. You need to enable write access on the folder in question, often you can do this via your FTP program, by viewing the folder in the FTP program, right clicking on it and going to properties, and you can then set folder permissions.

Means your probably trying to upload a file into your root where you don't have rights.

You probably need to go into the public_html folder :)

Try putting \public_html\ into your ftp as the start folder :)

If your trying to upload, delete or replace the index, means your server has claimed ownership of the file, and you need to chown it. This happens with some wysiwyg editors as php runs ad admin thus files uploaded by php are owned by php/admin :)
