Could someone please tell me the best way to catch some of the
expiring .com and .co.uk domain names ?.

Thank You

hi and welcome

if you wanna get .coms and the other more worldwide domains check out
snapnames.com
or
pool.com
if successful these systems offer an auction service where you end up competing against the other interested parties basically pushing the price up and up :(

for local UK domains - dropcatcher.co.uk provide an excellent service. If the domain you want is not already taken then you get a one off fee to attempt to catch your domain.

the other way for the UK domain extensions is sign up as a nominet memeber and get yourself a TAG and then write a script to hunt the pending drops down. for more info on this read some of the posts in this forum.

Remember - all these systems ATTEMPT yo catch the domains. There are no guarantees - if your desperate then book the same domain name on all the systems and hope for the best. With your own scripts your in charge of your own luck but how to do it is a secretive art that as a new comer may take you a few years of practice!!

good luck

Thank you for the indepth advice. Alright so if I manage to
get a tag is there anyone on here that knows where I could buy a
script to use ?.

Inshallah

Some tagholders (such as myself) offer private catching services for .uk , based on either a bounty system or paid attempt.

My advice is to always go the bounty route - otherwise the less scrupulous catchers in the UK scene (and they do exist!) will take your money but not ever chase the name :D

Cheers,
Rob.
