What is WW10

I recently saw an extension starting with WW10 instead of WWW, what is WW10?

You can set up anything you like before the domain name itself (i.e. subdomain). For example,

fishcake.example.co.uk
www.example.co.uk
secretary.example.co.uk
ww10.example.co.uk
etc

In this case, the company probably set up ww10. as a tracking extension for an ad campaign or similar (i.e. they're counting the number of people who go to ww10.domain.co.uk to see what effect the ad's having).

Also, in the "old days" before load balancing became seamless, companies with busy sites sometimes used to have clones of their site at www1., www2. etc. which they used for hosting different things.
