What version of Dreamweaver should I buy

However all the professional web designers I know won't use Dreamweaver - they will only hand code everything using professional code editors like Crimson: http://www.crimsoneditor.com

Well i wouldn't recommend an editor that hasn't been updated for 3 years.

Dreamweavers code editor is very good and extremely versatile, but if you dont want to use it's wysiwyg functions (I would avoid this if you want to learn how to code properly)and want to use a free Editor i would recommend : html kit http://www.chami.com/html-kit/ Or alleycode :http://www.alleycode.com/download.htm

Have any of you guys tried XSitePro - I as an absolute novice on web site design - struggled to get Frontpage to do anything that I can sensibly use, XSite has within it the tools to include Adsense & syndicated articles (not tried that) - but I put up a mini-site in with Adsense for content adds in about 30 mins, the text - took about 2 hours to write - LOL
