Hi Guys

I am looking to improve my Twitter marketing efforts for:

https://twitter.com/lowpricesuk

I've found it's a bit difficult to provide "interesting" tweets for such a general subject as price comparison. Also, I have limited time to update Twitter. So, what I was hoping for is some recommendations for good Follows on Twitter, so that I can retweet them to provide something that is of some interest to my followers.

Any suggestions for who to Follow or suggestions on Twitter strategy in general much appreciated.

Thanks

Have you tried followerwonk? You can get all kinds of metrics about twitter accounts there. It costs but might be worth it for a short period in order to take your twitter activities forward.

To me, the question your asking sounds like you need to rethink how to use Twitter.

Yes, retweets are good, but if your retweeting 'interesting' tweets, that serves you no purpose. Plus, what is interesting to you, may be as boring as a night stuck in a lift, for me. Stephen Fry can be interesting on Twitter, as can Ricky Gervais. But so many people follow them, that your followers probably do to.

What I'm trying to say, is it should be YOU doing the interesting Tweets, not someone else. Your account is LowPrices, so if I followed you, I would expect notifications about new low prices that have been found, or voucher codes, or something like that. For example, if you Tweeted that Halfords have a flash sale on, and the discount code XXXX will get you an additional 20% off, today only, that's interesting to the account. Sara Cox doing a Saturday night 80's show on Radio 2, isn't.

I'm still getting my head round Twitter, 3 years on....... I'm no expert, but thats how I look at things.

To find influential people to follow, I usually go to topsy.com and use the influencers search around your industry. Or use the tweets search.
