I'm wondering, what does the whois show during the backorder time.I mean if the domain is a good one, it will go on auction, and the whole thing can take a couple of days. What does the WHOIS show during this time? Is it the details of the catcher company?

I think you've misunderstood the UK drop process. It's not like .com. WHOIS shows old registrant details until the domain name is deleted by registry and then immediately shows new registrant details if it's registered immediately after. If the new registrant auctions it subsequently the details are likely to change again but that'll be via a domain transfer.

Thanks for the answer. My questions was understanding the right for the .uk - has it been officially dropped or not? I.e.Can i register the .uk?

Catchers go for the .uk also, so you will be out of luck.
