Why is it the .com market is always buzzing with sales, ideas, proper discussion, meetings, gatherings, helping each other and the list goes on where as the .co.uk market is absolutely dead on its feet? If another company/goverment took over the uk's namespace would you get back to trusting it and has Nominet finally put too many holes in there boat it could sink at anytime.

Can the .co.uk market get to a point where it is used, trusted and a happy vibrant place where people want to do business and network with each other, or is it time to drop .co.uk for good and move onto other cctld/tlds.

I would like to see a descent discussion on this and not a slaging match between members etc, keep it on topic please.

It’s simply about numbers e.g. 100 lunatics in the UK not financially viable. 100 in every country bingo financially viable no matter how hair brained the idea product etc.

In short globally you can find more lunatics than in any one specific country….;)

Exactly, it's a global market. It's not even comparable.

The .de market is the closest thing, but even that's a hugely flawed comparison.

I think the uk market became over obsessed with seo ,
then followed the belief that it didn't matter what domain name you used as the flagship of a business so long as you could seo it.
