are .info domains still a thing? .. Wigan is a nice small town (have a couple friends living there).. maybe some local web designer could want to have it and put up some local news site..

Not if its built attractively, & running smoothly. It's worth something and relevant for niches such as Tradesmen, Properties, Small Businesses. AdSense. And news updates. One way or another. Things won't always be like they are today. And if they had my town I'd buy it. Though not for that price. As i stated the right person would buy it pwrhaps.

.info for Wigan would not be as bad of a choice if you can't get .co.uk.. the good part - noone probably will apply for a .wigan gtld .. so, this future local seo competition is non-existant at the moment.

.co.uk + .uk pair would be the best, of course.. then .com and after that .info

I think that you misunderstood. I was saying that a developed website, or web development project on such a name could be worth something, maybe. And it could also generate some revenue if it had listings or advertising on it. I was just thinking aloud. And I build websites on occasion. That's where my head was at. Also, I'm not a flipper. There are many different types of domainers out there. There is NO NEED to be rude or argumentative. Even if someone is wrong, or mistaken (or not). To the right end user, the potential price is different to traders and flippers.

We are all entitled to our own opinions. My area all extensions are taken, one left is PREMIUM. There is potential! Especially with what is to come. I would buy/keep it. Have a lovely week ahead.

P.s. There is no real value to any domain name. They are virtual, and could expire tomorrow. Things can change. They are not assets but liabilities often, unless you are selling on a daily basis. Otherwise its registrars, brokers, and holders, larger stores that make the real money. That's my opinion. Yes a few great domainers out there. But many are trying. We all want to make it. Have that happy email. I won't be arguing the point any further. It's not my style at all. My area was premium at 700. So, it depends on the area, and what is on the URL.
