Was searching for some info for legal requirements for a petition online.

Couldn't find what I was after so I wrote a thread on a business forum.

opened up the same page on google that I had previously searched, and low and behold my question had appeared in number 1 postition, less than 10 minutes later.

I'm finding this is happening with blog posts too.

Post to an established blog and within minutes you can find it on Google.

If you search by LATEST instead of the default ANY TIME, you get almost real time additions to Google's database. Useful to see if your content is being picked up quickly.

Yep. If you search by Latest and use the "site:" operator, you can see which pages from a given site Google has indexed (or re-indexed) most recently.

I've seen pages indexed and ranked for keywords appearing within the content within 5 minutes.

In fact on a couple of occasions I've actually timed it out of curiousity

Fascinates me how Google manages to see the new content so quickly...

Yes, I've found that too sometimes. Occasionally they can be listed within a couple of minutes, quite amazing really.

Google loves AD, any domain details get quickly sponged up from here!
