There is nothing more annoying that seeing a domain parked and its clear from the keywords that the owner has no idea why it gets the traffic it does and just plucks something out the air.

le-caprice .co .uk - restuarant in London, im sure you have all heard of it.

lecaprice .co.uk - A parked page. Keyword? 'travel'

This could be considered a risky domain and setting the keywords to 'restaurant' or something else relating to the exisiting site would potentially give l e-c a p r i c e some ammunition if they took it to a DRS. I've had similar recently where I was accused of passing off as another company because the ppc page had items similar to what they sold.

I often set keywords to something different to avoid such issues. Then again, they may just have plucked the keyword out of thin air :)

PS. It would probably be polite to edit the URLs you listed before google spiders them and also make them non-clickable links!

So what is the point of registering a domain such as this if you are not going to maximise its PPC potential?

If you dont mind risking the domain there's no reason not to make the keywords highly relevant. Its also possible to use keywords that are loosely related which will get you clicks. Personally I usually use a portal page on these types of domains.

Grant, you need to edit your post similarly as your quote has the URLs...

Well, in some cases I add a LOT of names at once and start changing the keywords when I have time. This could take a week or more sometimes. Also I have forgotten and left names up with totally ridiculous keywords and then realized it when I noticed it wasnt converting.

If a name gets decent traffic then I will do research and figure out the best keywords but this also doesnt work sometimes.

You never really know the reason.

Done, and be assured I've given myself a good kickin' for that prize blunder......
