Nominet is hosting its Members’ Summer Social 2026 at The Design Museum, London on Wednesday 8th July 2026.
This year’s summer social forms part of Nominet’s 30-year anniversary celebrations, marking three decades since Nominet was founded in 1996 to support and formalise the growth of the .UK namespace. Nominet now manages over 10 million .UK domains and remains one of the central organisations in the UK domain name industry.
For AcornDomains members, this is a particularly relevant UK domain industry event. It is not a traditional conference or sales event, but a relaxed evening for Nominet members, registrars, .UK professionals and invited guests to reconnect, meet peers, catch up with the Nominet team, and celebrate the people and organisations behind the UK namespace.
The event will take place after hours at one of London’s most distinctive cultural venues, with private access to the museum’s design displays and exclusive access to two major exhibitions.

What to expect
Nominet describes the evening as an exclusive summer gathering with private access to the Design Museum’s three floors of design icons, entry to the Wes Anderson exhibition, a private viewing of the NIGO exhibition, plus bespoke food, drinks and live music.
The invitation also notes that places are limited and spaces were already over 50% booked when the reminder was sent, so members who wish to attend should book as soon as possible.
Nominet members are also welcome to bring along a business or personal guest.
Featured exhibitions
Wes Anderson: The Archives
Wes Anderson: The Archives is the first retrospective exhibition dedicated to the distinctive cinematic world of American filmmaker Wes Anderson.
The Design Museum has been granted access to Anderson’s personal archives, built up over more than three decades. The exhibition explores the design stories behind films including The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Royal Tenenbaums, Moonrise Kingdom, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Isle of Dogs and Asteroid City.
Visitors can expect to see more than 700 objects from Anderson’s filmmaking career, including storyboards, Polaroids, sketches, paintings, notebooks, puppets, miniature models, costumes, props and sets.
Highlights include the candy-pink model of the Grand Budapest Hotel, vending machines from Asteroid City, and the FENDI fur coat worn by Gwyneth Paltrow as Margot Tenenbaum in The Royal Tenenbaums.
NIGO: From Japan with Love
NIGO: From Japan with Love explores the work and influence of Japanese designer and creative director NIGO, from street style and music to fashion, architecture and wider contemporary culture.
The exhibition is the first UK exhibition dedicated to NIGO’s multifaceted creative work and the first major museum retrospective outside Japan to chart his life and career.
NIGO is known for founding A Bathing Ape in the 1990s and for his current role as artistic director of KENZO. Over a 30-year career, he has helped shape some of the most influential trends in contemporary fashion and streetwear.
The exhibition features over 700 objects, including rare designs, vintage clothing and objects from NIGO’s personal collection, ceramics hand-thrown by NIGO himself, and a life-size glass tea house made especially for the exhibition.
Why this may interest AcornDomains members
Nominet sits at the centre of the .UK domain name ecosystem, and many AcornDomains members are directly involved with .co.uk, .uk and wider UK domain activity as domain investors, registrars, developers, brokers, business owners and long-time .UK participants.
This social evening should be a good opportunity to meet people from across the UK domain community in a more informal setting than a policy meeting, registrar update or industry conference.
