Does anyone know if 123reg have been having problems today. I have registered 3 domains with them and had payment processed only to find that checking whois showed them as still available. Well p***ed with them because one had been registered by someone else despite 3 attempts and processed payments from me to get it registered. Emailed tech support no resolution, now having to leave overnight with couple of domains that i want and have paid for until the morning to see what happens??? Is this a common problem with 123?

I think it has been known. A lot of gripes in recent times on this forum about the level of service from 123. I think they generally will refund so why not try registering elsewhere in view of the loss of one of the names you wanted? If the other two have prospects why risk them for a tenner? :)

I am sick and tired of 123-reg.co.uk

Its the usual gripe....careless approach for registering domains. Do you think they want to lose business? I have no idea for the change in strategy except for that simple fact, they dont make much money on .co.uk domains?? Someone has to pay Hasselhoff for his adverts?

123-reg what can you do about them?

I earn my living from my web sites and currently I need to change the name server on one domain and transfer another. Neither of these are locked but the control panel process fails to work and I've also failed to contact 123-reg either by email, by phoning their 50p a min support line or email their group head quarters. My final approch to get noticed is to contact iccarn which I did today.

What else can I do, it's been 2 weeks now and it's costing me money.

Hi,
sorry to hear you are having a mare with them.
I think everyone on this forum has gone through this at some point.
Fortunately i have had zero probs for months.
My advice is to write to md of pipex via recorded delivery & to telephone.
Whenever i have rung they have answered right away. The fee kills , especially as i banned premium rate calls on my line & takes weeks to undo, so i had to keep going out to a phonebox to ring them. That destroyed me!
Phoning is best way to sort, it will cost, but when you get through should be sorted.
Good luck,
Pred
