And I doubt SMS will ever be called LMS as the name has probably stuck, but you never know. What with WIFi hot spots and always on technology on a mobile all over the country, SMS will be short lived and it will simply be replaced by emails. But LMS may have a mini future.

There is no such thing as LMS, if you are refering to it as Long Messaging Service.

It's actually called EMS (Extended Messaging Service) and it's been around for years.
