Incredible. Such a sad waste of life after so much help and support - 19 is just a kid. I hope she pulls through and turns her life around.

A teenager weighing 63st was taken to hospital yesterday with the help of builders, scaffolders and members of all three emergency services.

Georgia Davis, 19, needed urgent medical care but it took around 30 people almost eight hours to get her into an ambulance.

The road outside her home was closed off as two walls of the house were demolished to move her from her first-floor bedroom.

The mother should be partly responsible whatever the childhood circumstances, but whatever your views, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

They must have spent thousands - plus all the stuff she had paid for before (see cost of the US Fat Camp).

Food addiction is just as serious as any other problem (e.g. with alcohol, tobacco, drugs, etc).

The team that got her out are to be commended, the 'bridge' alone from her 1st floor bedroom for instance:

Must be hard for her psychologically, at 63 stone it seems like she won't be able to do much about it, losing half her weight she would still be 31 to 32 stone which itself is big.

Ashame but there are plenty out there like her !

I agree Alien - eating to such a degree is an illness, and the parents are to blame - if it was heroin she was addicted to, would they be going out and scoring for her?

My wife's neice is 20 stone and I can't believe how big she is, God knows what 63 stone must look like.

She must literally eat round the clock to put on that much weight by 19.

Well, I couldn't be bothered to do a workout today because of the heat. Must have lost a stone in water today doing it, but it's this kind of story that acts as motivation. :)

Bloss - I suppose if you consider to lose 2/3 pounds a week, you need to create a calorie deficit of around 500 cals per day (so RDA 2000 - 500 = 1500 for women).

In order to gain 2/3 pounds a week, I guess you do the opposite (any maths gurus here?!) and eat just 500 extra everyday (e.g. 2,500 for women). That's approx. half a stone a month added, or a weight gain of 6 stone a year.

Add that issue compared with none (or little) exercise = disaster/morbid obesity.

If you quadrupled that additional 500 per day (to 2000 more cals over what you need on a daily basis, so 4000 calories for a woman), that would be 2 stone per month weight gain or 24 stone gain every year. 2000 cals is pretty easy to eat in some junk/rich foods, etc.

I guess that would all depend on lifestyle and activity levels. I'm no mathematician though, lol.

I would imagine that once you're bed bound it's quite easy to put on weight. On some of these weight loss shows people manage to lose almost a stone a month. That's with a strict diet and heavy exercise though. She'd be incapable of exercise, so god knows how long it'd take her to shift that weight.

I remember when Elvis died seeing a graphic in the paper showing that he was eating 18,000 calories of high fat food a day.

This, it pointed out, was the daily calorific requirement of an adult African elephant.
