believe me i dont agree with all this media hype around the occassion or the recreational public displays of grief but 2 mins of your day just to keep quiet seems a small request.

well i apologise if anyone here is related or knows personally any of the victims.

If not then i stand by 'shut up' as a tounge and cheek reference to the 2 mins silence rather than some morbid depressing statement and i agree that people shouldn't break from there normal day in reference to the incident but its only a year ago so the day is still going to be very vivid for some people.

2 minutes doesn't assist the bombers, all this media coverage is just stupid, we're not yanks we get on with our lives and one minute would have sufficed. I did the two minutes, closed one of my mbs down for the duration and I stood with the whole country except for the arseholes that stayed seated and didn't even care.

All the press hoohaa is wrong, blair on the streets with the people is a kick in the face but still at least he bothered, I'd rather have the Queen standing with us than him. I just didn't like the way you said it, most people will have observed the two minutes and don't need talking to like that as if they wasn't doing it in the first place.

I just feel sorry for those on the tube today seeing the increased old bill and cameras again, that has to be worse than this day actually being so in the first place.

I agree Lee - i observed the silence but tried not to let it affect my day.

media in this country is out of hand, in the era of celebrity everything is exagerated and unnessarily hyped distorting its perception and public feeling.

i work at edgeware road station (literally right on top), last year i was in kings cross station - demostrating the immediate impact last years events had on the population.
