Hi all,
I'm busy building my first site and Whilst trying to make an attractive user friendly health site that people like and remember, I’m wondering if it might be a good idea to leave the home/intro page free of ads to make the site seem more sincere to visitors, and not just created to spam them with ads.

The site will have around 15 pages to start, and all but the home page would have ad sense and Amazon ads on.

Is this a valid strategy or am I just over-thinking as usual and should advertise on the home page?

The question is, how many visitors do you think will enter via the homepage and how many via inner pages due to long tail search?

There's a WordPress plugin which only displays Adsense ads on your site if the visitor has arrived from a search engine.

Thank you Blossom, that makes sense.
I was referring to my site sore-throat.co.uk
I guess I was thinking about visits from facebook/twitter etc campaigns (though I don't even know how that works yet) and from link exchanges.

That wordpress tool sounds cool, I'll look it up now that I seem to be getting on top of wordpress (only three site wipe-outs so far lol)

Thanks again.
