Anyone using Allowed Sites with Google? Just a quick note on it here.

Basically I could copy Adsense code from the source code from your website and start misusing it on other sites of mine to bring problems to you from Google. (say use it on porn sites etc) Competitors might do this !!!

This feature lets you tell Google what sites you have the code on, or what sites to expect to have it on. If it's else where then ignore it please Google.

Just thought i'd bring it to everyone's attention if some are unaware of it.

But be careful you do add new sites to the list in Google, that you want Adsense to work on as you could miss out on some cash from them.

(like i did today ;) )

Oh and they show a report on sites that are trying to use your code (bad people) or if you have forgotten to add any new sites.

Allowed Sites
Use this page to identify the URLs that are allowed to display Google ads for your account. You can choose either to allow all sites or to list specific sites. [?]

Choose your site settings:
Allow any site to display ads for my account
Only allow certain sites to display ads for my account

! There are unauthorised sites that have displayed ads using your AdSense publisher ID within the last week. Please click here to view them.
In the field provided, list URLs of sites that you want to display your ads. Then click "Save changes". If you put your ad code on a page not on this list, ads will still be displayed, but impressions and clicks will not be recorded. [?]
List your allowed URLs, one per line:

Good point G,

Theoretically a competitor could use the rivals adsense code on a non approved adsense site to get the publisher in trouble and out of the way.

Is the allowed site option available from within are adsense admin panel?

it would be nice if they did it the other way for strating out, so that you don;t forget any sites:

1. Show all sites that have displayed your adverts (as far back as Google keep that data)
2. Go through list and ban strange sites
3. Convert that list to the white list

Any new sites you then need to add to the list, or the Google page says these sites have been sending advert traffic.
