Hi
A .com domain name I am interested in shows up as in redemption period. It is the ideal domain name for some software which I have been working on so I am after buying it for my website and not to sell on

Once the redemption period is over I assume it goes back out for public registration for anyone to register?

I guess my best chance for getting this would be to use a drop catcher company? Does a drop catcher have special access to register domain names before anyone else?
How can i trust a drop catcher to hand over the domain and not keep it for themselves to sell on?
Any advice appreciated
Thanks
Anthony

Not overly familiar with dropping .com domains, but some backorder services get preference over others depending on the registrar.

not to sell on or squat waiting for offers

What a lovely description of domainers... ;)

If it's popular then it could get advanced bids in a pool otherwise use someone like Domainmonster.com, they will charge about £43 in total and if you mean by squatt cybersquatt then you can only do that if it's somebody elses trademark and therefore you shouldn't be doing that :|
