affilate websites, where to start?

Hi all,

I'm trying to set up an affiliate site for watches. I have no idea where to start.
I've got few question regarding affilate websites.

1. Sould I put a site up first then apply to programs?
2. Where can I find the datafeeds/programs/networks?
3. I'm a member of CJ.com seems like they only have feeds for rolex watches, I'm aiming for cheaper watches, any ideas?

Argos are on CJ as well so you could apply to them if I remember rightly a lot of Jewelry affiliates are over on affiliate window.
I'd get a feed displaying Argos watches up before applying to these though as some were quite picky to the sites they accepted during a4u member comp.

I always have a look on easycontentunits.com for products to see which are the best merchants etc.

@newpbc thanks for that, I have been trying to search keywords on cj.com for "watches" and nothing really showed up. That was a massive help.

Check out thehut.com and play.com etc both on affiliate window and sell watches under fashion.

But yeah I would make the site before, or some kind of outline to be accepted depends on the merchants.

Sign up to Amazon associates they have most products you can think of and you can create your own stores or just use their content units and widgets on your own site adding the products you choose 8)

Best bet is to register a domain name with some of the top less competitive keywords. Choose like five and eventually register one so that you can use it as a website or for blogging or both.
