One of my resolutions of 2012 was to work more efficient so been on the lookout for some tools which could help me doing this.

So far I have found the following tools:

Managewp: Manage all my Wordpress sites from one dashboard, automatic backups and it enables you to update all WP sites and plugins to the latest version with one click.

Staagg: Enables me to check all my affiliate stats in one go.

Anyone else using tools to save time and work more efficient?

I have been looking at ManageWP as well, but thought the monthly fees were a bit steep. From the features you mention, you must have the professional version, which is what I would need, is it worth the money?

Hi Bruce,

Yeah I am using the professional version.

You are right, the monthly fees are steep but it does save a lot of time, especially when you have to do theme/plugin updates.

Next to this I love the option where you can add posts to any website using one login and the option where it makes a backup of all my sites on a daily basis.

I'll share a couple of the good one's I've been using of late. - Hopefully everyone lists loads!

1. I've been using Trello .com for a couple of months now which I find useful.
Its free & enables you to sort tasks into lists.
Great if your the unorganised type like me
It can also synch with your smartphone - But I haven't tried that yet.
I did tweet it to you a few weeks ago Lenart. Be interested to hear how you got on if you've tried it.

2. Sescout .com
This is a great tool to keep track of your keyword rankings in google. etc.
You can set multiple sites and keywords. There is free version available.
Saves alot of messing around.
Wouldn't do without it!

I'll add more later, but wait and see what everyone else comes up with first.

Great tool, just installed StayFocusd in Chrome.

Sescout looks great, signing up as we speak.

Tried Trello.com but didnt really like it, tried different digital options but none of them did the trick for me.. Ended up buying an oldschool agenda to keep track of my to do lists

I have heard shocking reviews for SEscout so will be interesting to hear any feedback once you have tried it.

Been using it for a while (free version) and not had any problems.
Seems quite accurate, at least for the one's I checked anyway.

Glad you posted an alternative though as it means I can track more sites for free

Lol, but that will reduce your efficiency as you will have more websites you need to keep track off

Found a nice Chrome extension called Read Later Fast.

Its similar to bookmarks, it lets you save a page/post/article to read it later.

So instead of reading them while working you can save them to read them all in one go when your done working.

How does this compare to running WordPress multi-site?

No clue, never heard of WP multi site

By WordPress multi-site I mean WPMU - which is now included in WP3 as the network feature

This seems to do a lot of what Managewp offers (for free). I've been trying it out this week on a few sites.

Multi-user and multi-blogging
Prior to WordPress 3.0, WordPress supported one blog per installation, although multiple concurrent copies may be run from different directories if configured to use separate database tables. WordPress Multi-User (WordPress MU, or just WPMU) was a fork of WordPress created to allow multiple blogs to exist within one installation that is able to be administered by a centralized maintainer. WordPress MU makes it possible for those with a website to host their own blogging community, as well as control and moderate all the blogs from a single dashboard. WordPress MU adds eight new data tables for each blog.
WordPress MU merged with WordPress as part of the 3.0 release.

They are quite different. WPMU creates a number of virtual sites on one server, sharing one database.
ManageWP administers multiple individual sites, which can be on different servers, each with their own database.
You can't compare them really.

Thought I would give this thread a proper kick up the arse!

2 tools which I recently started using and which have been a great help.

- Dropbox, I store most of my day to day files on Dropbox and also use it along with Managewp to backup my sites.



- Staagg is an affiliate stats tool which displays all your affiliate income on one page. I used to spend a lot of time checking my affiliate stats, just to see how much I made

Now I can see them all in real time on one page

Yep agree Dropbox is great use it every day.

On task management I was playing with Trello more than getting stuff done.
(Offers a bit more than I need)
So last week I switched to TODOIST which is alot simpler and does the job well.
Also syncs with my iphone which is ideal.
Been alot more productive this week

Another which is not directly related to affiliate marketing or domaining but with so many of us living abroad...Skype

Have bought some Skype credit and spent a couple of hours catching up with friends from back home and other countries..Cheap way to stay in touch.
