The bottom line is that if the US tells us to do something, we do it. Britain is not a world power although it thinks it is, but the US needed us to avoid a unilateral invasion of Iraq.

When the first George Bush lost the election after the first Gulf war, Saddam was still in power and had a great laugh at Bush being thrown out by his own country. When Dubya junior came along I knew one of the first things he would do was attack Iraq.

You're right, it good to hear someone with the gumption to admit things, but the UK is just a poodle to the US. Thats why seeing Britain constantly begging to the US to say we have a "special relationship" makes me feel sick. It's like a bullied boy at school constantly trying to be the bullies friend.

The first time we attacked Iraq was a multi-country effort because he attacked Kuwait. The second time was unjust on our part.

There - thats my morning rant over with! ;)

Totally agree.

My only issue with the first attack, was that by the time we did, Iraq was pulling troops out of Kuwait.

20 years later and our troops and U.S troops are still being treated like crap over gulf war syndrome
that's been brushed under the carpet

Any war started by the USA is imperial as we all know !

We live in a false world :(

are you telling me the Iraq was illegal and it was only about Oil ? and the Labour Government lied... who that Tony Blair fella...no it cannot be

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-landed-scene-Dr-Kellys-death-body-found.html

If you wereabout to commit suicide, would you bother to wipe all your fingerprints off your spectacles, pill bottle, knife, water bottle? And why would police strip wallpaper from Dr Kelly's living room walls the night he disappeared?

this is an interesting piece on why, apart from knowing how knee deep in shit the police and security services are in this, he also desn't want to look even more incompetent than he already looks:

Absolute disgrace.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13709515

The laws of our land dictate that in cases where a death is not easily explained, an inquest must take place.

We live in a country where our security services can murder our own people, yet say that they cannot bump off someone like Saddam Hussein; instead invading a country and killing hundreds of thousands of men women and children.

This proves that whoever we vote into office, they are only puppets for the real powers that be - current government carrying on the work of the previous one.

"The continuing cover-up of the truth of what happened is a national disgrace and should be of concern to all British citizens."

The group will now seek to take the decision to judicial review. Dr Frost added: "A proper inquest into the suspicious death of any British citizen is required by the laws of this country.

"It is highly regrettable that Dominic Grieve has sought, as did the coroner Nicholas Gardiner before him, to rubber-stamp the clear subversion of due process of the law that the derailing of the inquest by Lord Falconer on August 13, 2003 constituted."

Won't be long now until China take their rightful place in the world, and America will find out what it's like to be a superpower's bitch :)

Aye, I think there is a big reversal coming in the next 10-15 years.

Was thinking the other day about how we hear about all these hacks and attempted hacks of Chinese origin but that the Shermans must be getting up to so much that we don't hear about. How long till they pull the "It's my ball and I'm going home" with the internet?

If I was Cameron I'd be in China talking up our 'special relationship'.

That's probably just propaganda so they can justify acting on the censorship legislation they already have brought in
