Fairly random....

I was Just wondering if anybody has any experience of .AM domain names,

:t in advance.

I'm not that fond of domain hacks for marketing, I think plain old .com and .co.uk are always less confusing and therefore better.

I agree with you, I should have explained my self a bit better,

I have the .co.uk for my registered business name but am looking to create an application platform(im a developer) for my clients using the same name.

for example (made up names!)
i own balsam.co.uk i want to keep this a business front end and register bals.am the brand for the developed applications.

I rank top of all SERPS for my business name i was wondering how hard it would be to get the .AM (developed applications page) near the top also. There is little to no competition for the key word.

as an aside, there is no way of me getting the .com without spending BIG bucks!

I don't think you would get any exact match boost (if that's significant anymore anyway) from bals.am.

It's a personal choice but I would rather avoid the hack myself, e.g. I would go with balsamapps.com / .co.uk.
