Hi has any one had any experience of setting up an Amazon store..like this example

http://www.automaticwatchwinder.co.uk/

what are the pros and cons of this type of store and does anyone know if there are any problems with hosting it on a One & One Account.

Cheers

Never seen one like this before. I think it looks really good.

What script/plugin are you using?

Don't host with One and One. They will try and rip you off. Just ask anyone on this site and they will have a 1&1 horror story to tell.

This is done with Fresh Store Builder. When you build a site like this, with good content, you can really boost the value of your domain.

Any questions on FSB let me know - I know a lot about it :D

Its not my site..its just an example i found ..but looks quite nice but i have had problems with one and one before and they are not helpful so would have to move some domain names to new place.

Any one do well with these stores????

I do well - providing you build a good store with decent content (this one has a few articles etc.) then you get good rankings. Amazon are a good company to be promoting - you get big baskets, lots of unrelated products sold etc.

Also many people don't know.. using a "remote shopping cart" like this (i.e. you have a basket on your store, then you checkout on Amazon) gives you a 90 day cookie - if the user adds to their basket then it stays for 90 days. :cool:

Never heard of this before.. i always assumed amazon have a 24 hour cookie, like it or not, no exceptions?

Well it look like this 90 day cookie does indeed exist :p

wpzonbuilder has this now in latest version

Never heard of the Fresh Store Builder. Something new to me and looks a bit dear.

I do use AOM with built-in cart (e.g. usbprintserver.co.uk, etc.) or Shopperpress (e.g. cooltshirts.org.uk) without cart option, though it allows Amazon cart. Amazon is OK'ish for cheaper items as they have this silly £7 commission limit.

Because it's your product?

Have you integrated it with wordpress before?

Yes, that appears to be the case as careybaird.com and freshstorebuilder.com are regged to the same outfit.

Yes it is carey's product and I love using it.

I bought it about a week ago, had some problems uploading the script so they uploaded it for me at no cost. Excellent product and it has very few bugs (a small percentage of what storeburst did). Lots of options as-well and as an seo guy I give it a big thumbs up!... anyone want the affiliate link just let me know :p

Cheers,

WW.

If you know this product, please tell me the difference between FSB and Shopperpress. I am always looking for new scripts to implement but really want to see that it is better / have more options that the one I use.

P.S. I am not associated with PremiumPress in any ways, just use their scripts.

Yes it is :)

A lot of our customers integrate with wordpress and either run FSB in a subdomain, a subdirectory, or vice versa (the wordpress in subdomain/subdir).

I don't have any experience with shopperpress so couldn't compare, but here are some pros and cons of FSB;

Pros;
- You can edit everything from the template to content, seo to parameters
- Very simple to use
- Checkout and click through reporting tool
- Templates have high a higher ctr than most other solutions (such as sb)
- Hosted on your own server so you have full control
- Great support
- You can integrate adsense / other adverts
- Good for all versions of amazon associates
- Adding products is just adding the asin number (then you can further edit the content)
- Checkout & direct link buttons available

Cons;
- Can be difficult to upload for the first time - unzipping the file can loose some of the key files
- Can only be used with amazon (maybe adding more providers in the future)
- Only has 3 templates available, but I am sure they will add more over time

Overall I really am enjoying using it & will continue 'testing' it out over the next couple of months, can definitely see it becoming a big name soon.

Thanks for you time, mate! Appreciated. Interesting... Well, most I can do with the SP using standard WP features and plugins.

Maybe Carey can add few words for us, Shopperpress users ;)

Have you tried the admin demo on their site?
