Hi, maybe a bit of subject for this forum. But was wondering if there are any swift programmers on here? I am just about to take a course in it :D How hard is it for someone with not much programming experience? All i have is some basic html knowledge

It takes a bit of getting used to but having a grasp of html is going to be a big help (plus if you have any understanding of php/sql and scripting languages it will help)

I started with a course and surprised how quickly some apps could take shape - only basic ones but can see how you can use the basics to framework concepts even if you then bring in coders and designers to do the finishing touches

I don't know much about swift (I code mostly with Java) but does knowing a bit about html really help with a language like swift?

HTML doesn't teach you anything about some of the basics like arrays, loops, objects etc.

Hi, no, I know html knowledge won't help with swift. Just thought I would mention my programming experience. Did you do an online course cc976a?

I guess my point is, if you have the mindset to learn and code in HTML, then you'll have the mindset to start to tackle something like swift

You won't use the same code but the concept will be familiar (even to a point of closing tags and debugging error messages)

Having knowledge of a scripting language for arrays, loops etc will give an added advantage of course

Yes I've started an online course and about 50% through (so no expert yet).

Lots to learn but been quite amazed how very basic apps can take shape quite quickly - which give you a foundation to build.....

.....just like learning HTML for the first time
