Any way to find out if a UK domain has been registered previously?

Hi

Is there any way to find out if a co.uk domain name has been registered previously?

I know you can use whois.domaintools.com for US domains but wondered if there was something similar for UK domains?

There is no official record. You can check archive.org though and see if it was a site before.

It's not showing up in archive.org, I think I'll take my chances and register it.

You can also try http://who.is/domain-history/domain.co.uk which will show if someone has previously done a successful whois lookup through that site
