Might be worth looking in the back of Angling Times at the classifieds & contacting some of the shops to see if they'll do some kind of wholesale/dropship thing.

Like cycling most of the stuff is made by a few manufacturers & prob comes through 2-3 core UK distributors which cartel the market. They may be the best port of call... if you can find them!

Yeah there are plenty of Wholesalers but its not a big enough venture to warrant carrying stock at the moment, ive spoke to some current shop owners too but to be honest they are reluctant to sacrifice their margins so the deals they want to work with doesnt really warrant the time of processing the orders.

Its a shame as because ive got a forum with 400+ members online daily, it would be a nice compliment for a fishing store.

Affiliate store may be best thing then, e.g. using datafeed & wp-all-import with woocommerce addon, or prosociate for amazon. AffiliateWindow has a few larger dealers.

Yeah ive got a couple of stores using WooZones Amazon import plugin, the trouble is its a very cliquey niche, to make it worse for me the site/store would be highly targeted at members rather than guests.

If it was a matter of pitching to guests I would have no problem throwing an affiliate store up but i feel since it members targeted having no control over the products, shipping and returns as a white label would be frond upon and very few would use it.

Could you not go to the merchants and get some personalised offers / codes? It is a very targetted niche so surely the merchants would jump at the chance?

Once you start offering things that benefit the members it may take off if you have a banner saying x item only £x for fishersmonthly.co.uk members. Just use the code fishersmonthly.

Even better if it is somewhere they are bound to use anyway but you can blag a discount code to go with your aff link :)

Yeah we already run a number of deals with tackle shops, along with offering a certain group of members pre-arranged discount codes for certain stores. Its really about securing some real monetisation ( thats worthwhile ) for the site rather than relying on banners etc or generating pocket money revenue via affiliate type deals.

Ive created a marketplace of which tackle stores can list their products on the site and we take a certain commission when a product sells, but ive not launched it simply because id prefer to be able to drop ship products rather than earning commission and lining other people pockets. So i want to exhaust all avenues before resorting to going down that road.
