Was that really the norm though. In my experince big players like moneysupermarket, uswitch and the like dominated the serps for these sort of terms
Is google adding more value than these affiliate sites dosent look like to me.

And at the same time, are the likes of MS, USwitch, Gocompare, etc adding much more value than the mini sites owned by low level affiliates?

For someone looking for the best cash isa - yes. If someone really wanted to give good impartial advice on this subject and keep it updated then the opportunity for free traffic was always there. Problem is that nobody wants to do that.

The moneysaving expert is still #1 and #2. However, for a simple query I expect a simple answer - not a page full of waffle. For those who want both they have both.

I guess if you're saying it's unfair that organic results are pushed below the fold I would agree with you on this. It's not a good user result and maybe would be better if the 3 pack of ads on top was removed entirely?

In terms of disclosure though I think I prefer google's honest and simple approach.
