I personally think £350 was a fair price for icloud.co.uk, if I was the previous owner I wouldn't worry too much.

Agree with Ben, the value is only there now due to this news.

I also wouldn't be worried about seeing a big sale as Apple don't seem to be too are fussed about .co.uk domains. From a quick look they own iTunes.co.uk and iPod.co.uk but haven't bothered acquiring iPad.co.uk, iPhone.co.uk or even Apple.co.uk (although the latter is in use, I'm sure the owners would be persuaded to sell if an offer too good to refuse came along!)

I presume they would of bought the iCloud trademark that the company owned in the deal anyway, Definitely wouldn't of won against the Apple Legal Team!

I wonder how much they would have been willing to pay for ipad, iphone and apple.co.uk - presumably the owners are holding out for a huge payday. Risky move for the first 2 of those, as if Apple bring out a new name phone instead of an iphone5, they've totally blown that gamble :)

Surely Apple will pay £100k or so for icloud.co.uk without a second thought if they have a big service planned for "icloud"?

Not sure if they will actually be interested in buying the .co.uk domains though. As far as I know they have never bothered marketing .co.uk domains, and if they don't own the full set (i.e. apple, iphone, ipad etc) I can't see them doing it either.

With their massive budget I'm sure they could pretty much persuade and afford any price the owner of "The Apple Agency" wants in order to move their business over to a different domain or retire early.

Could be completely wrong and the domains may have already received substantial offers. Would be interesting to know as at least one of the domain owners above is on here. :)

Purely speculation on my part, but I'm guessing that The Apple Agency have had a more than generous offer for the domain, but are holding out for an even bigger one. They're in a significantly stronger position than the owner of ipad.co.uk, whose domain becomes worthless overnight when the product is obsolete.

Apple must be losing a huge amount of typein traffic to that domain, I got it wrong myself when I decided to make the jump from Windows to Apple.

The main reason that points to The Apple Agency holding out for a big payout is the fact that who in their right mind would want to have a business on Phrase.co.uk when you have zero chance of ever ranking top 5 for Phrase? I guess they are holding out for millions.
