Hi everyone.

Could someone with experience of buying/selling geo domains please help with valuation?

sthelier.org.uk (St Helier, Jersey)
110,000 local searches for "st helier"
798,000 serp results for "st helier"
High advertiser competition, wealthy residents ;)

I've other domains but if you can give me an idea of what this is worth and why it'll help me value the others by myself. I also intend to sell this domain via Acorn.

Thank you.

Hi,

There are 4,400 exact match searches monthly in the UK for St Helier - the 110,000 quoted is the broad match (ie any search with the words in any order containing st+anything else+helier).

Assuming that
1) .org.uk value is the much quoted 5-10% of .co.uk and
2) Large UK towns in .co.uk are selling on Acorn for low £xxxx
Then I'd have said high £xx to low £xxx for this one as an undeveloped name, depending on the buyer.

I think it has more value developed, but then that's true of pretty much every domain.

Regards

Oops, thought I'd put the exact on there as well as the phrase (which is the same figure as the broad), cheers for adding. :)

Although the number of people searching can have a relevance on the price its not the be all. Depends more on what profit % you get of what you’re offering on the site (less work involved on a site that has 10 visitors but you make 100 per visitor than 1000 you make a 1 yes if your numbers drop so do your profits but it allows you more time to develop other ones..?

I’d say low £xx mainly because there are still other domains to be registered that would not restrict you to more UK market i.e. .eu, Many may not like them in the UK (but Joe public is more into a high listing on google? than the extension) and the Europeans Germany etc do quite like them.

Most Domains are worth more well developed than not…?
