Hi guys just wondered what anyone thought of these names any advice appreciated cheers Kieron

mp3decks.co.uk
usbmixers.co.uk
childrensscooter.co.uk
any good or horse poo

IMO they are worth the reg fee, you will need to develop them before they are worth any more though

whats the best way to develop i have no web page design program very new to this is it very hard or ....?????

The best way is to learn how to create a website yourself, but it depends if you have the ability / interest.

If you are interested in web marketing, you can run a blog free using blogger, see my DropCost blog for example, and this doesn't need much technical skill, just writing skill.

hi without sounding like an utter numpty once you have an ok name you design a web page to suit can i ask then what .......... is this where you learn about parking ?

accelerator can i ask a question like with childrensscooter.co.uk what would you suggest a design a page for it and what would i fill it with a choice of childrens scooters offered on the internet ?

Parking is different from developing.

With parking, you just sign up for Park, Buy & Sell Domain Names - Sedo.co.uk or NDX Market - NameDrive.com and redirect the domain name there. Anyone typing the name in will see a page of ads, and may click on one (which means you'll get paid a few pence).

With web development, you actually develop a website with content, graphics/images etc. and then you need to promote it. Downside is that it's much harder than parking (not "hard" but certainly much harder). Upside is that the sky's the limit as far as traffic and earnings are concerned. Some developed sites get tens of thousands of visitors a day and earn a very nice income. Of course, baby steps first - getting anything off the ground and with even a trickle of traffic is a good start.

Once you have a website, you can then add advertisements to your site. The easiest way to do this is to start in affiliate marketing. This means joining the various UK affiliate networks, then through them you can sign up top the various merchants, e.g. Marks & Spencer, and start promoting them. Take my mens shirts for example. This is a typical affiliate site where I have signed up to the various merchants that sell mens shirts, and I can then add their text and banners to my site. Each time a visitor clicks through my link and goes on to buy some shirts say from Marks & Spencer, I make a % commission on the sale.

Parking is where you haven't got time to build a site, so you point your domain to a parking company like Sedo or Namedrive, and they can display a parking page for you, giving you some ad revenue, and also giving you the option of selling the domain. Here's my jet hire parking page. I'm just parking this domain until I have time to develop it. I should really tune the ads in better to private jet hire but I haven't got the time. Parking revenue is a fraction of what you would get if you built a site.

Affiliate marketing is basically pick a topic, build a site, join the affiliate networks and learn to promote it. You'll have to learn which areas are worth your while promoting, that's where experience comes in. You'll find examples of affiliate sites in the lower right col of the DropCost blog, some of these sites get a lot more attention than others, feel free to buy stuff through these sites :D

Before you can register with an affiliate scheme, you need a site "up and running" for them to inspect. This is an automatic inspection process.

You need to build a site. You can get free lessons online at w3schools .com.

Then you can put the site onto some free hosting, and redirect the nameservers from an appropriate domain with your domain registrar.

We all know you have a lot to learn - but one thing you really should get the hang of is SEARCHING THIS BOARD. Most of the advice you need is already on here, in old threads ...

The other thing you need to do is learn that you need to invest A LOT OF TIME in this.

Basically, you're trying to go from crawling around on the floor to running in the Olympics in 48 hours. Just not going to happen. Take your time, read everything, practice what you've read, then read and learn some more.

Or give up! There's no "short circuit" in this business, any more than there is in most others.

Dear Kieron,

You have to realise just what you've been requesting in your posts - asking people who have been in business for many years to give up their techniques to the world at large, not just you - this forum is a public place.

The advice from Edwin alone could be expanded out into a short course, including "secrets" in the title, and sold on eBay at $30 a download.

Think about it - settle down, read the immense amount of info already here, and learn for yourself how to do it.

Kind Regards,
Craig
