1) How many men get engagement rings? Wedding rings, yes - but not many get engagement rings - so already a very, very small market.

2) Too long and too many hyphens.

I know it sounds unconventional but people are searching for this term and there's loads of google ads on the SERP and plenty of clicks.

Nexttaguk stands out with 142 products matching the search and even hsamuel has 12.

Personally I wouldn't have registered this as like Suzi says, it's too long and too many hyphens, however I can see where you are coming from with the local, exact matches in July, although interestingly globally it was only 4.4k.

As a domain on its own I think you would struggle to sell it, develop it as a site and it might be a different story.

thats a no go mate,the keyword tool has spieled out another duff search,there is no traffic for the rest of the year(trends) and i don't believe has already been noted which men buy engagement rings.....?

if you have just hand reg'd the domain depending on which register you used you have so many days to get your money back or a credit to your account,on the strength of the domain i would do the later..

Hi Mark, cheers for the response. Is this common with the google keyword tool to throw up a duff one every now and then? I generally use Market Samurai but not on this occasion, my memory in the PC has issues, anything running Adobe Air seems to give me a blue screen. :sad:

yes i cannot say anything mate,i still fall for them but certain words keep coming up duff especially in the flights sector and hyphens, in fact i was thinking of writing a site with google results and seeing the way words claim to have millions of searches one month then nothing the next,you would expect event domains and seasonal domains to fluctuate but names in general should be consistent all year.

Out of interest, where are you getting the trends info from - Google Trends or somewhere better?

You can get an idea of trends through the keyword tool, add column 'Search Volume Trends' to view.

Look at the chart for 'emerald rings' for another search spike in volume trends.

Worth comparing this data against the keywords tool, generates some good research ideas sometimes looking at the 'Rising Searches'.
