Hi, I have registered a generic domain name, one that has nothing to do with any company's trademark, and would like to sell it to a specific company.

I think it's as brandable as shareacoke.co.uk, and at only 10 characters it's less than there 15.

So, what's the best way to contact the company? Do I find out who there marketing manager is and contact them? By post, email or phone?

Thanks, Daniel

"share a coke" is related to a specific company's trademark (there are 20 live trademarks on the word 'coke' alone, and a quick sampling suggests they all belong to the same 1 company).

I know that's just an example, but it may be that your domain is also not as generic as you think.

Yes, shareacoke.co.uk is an example. The domain in question is 'lovesquash.co.uk' and the question still remains, how do I market this to companies like Britvic?

A trademark search has shown only one trademark with the terms listed, and that's not an exact match, and not related to Drinks, or the drinks industry.

I will worry about loosing the domain in a legal battle when I get a letter telling me I done bad ;D

If no luck with the parent company, why not pitch to BBH? they might be more open to marketing opportunities/ potential, especially if they might be able to trademark the phrase?
