So I own the domain http://cutpricefuel.co.uk and have done for a while now, I don't use it, I can't even remember the paypal login details to see if I have had any sales!

The other day driving around Plymouth I noticed that all the Texaco petrol stations are using the slogan "CUT PRICE FUEL" to market their fuel costs. I noticed this about 6 months ago but didn't really think about it.

Wondering if I should pitch for them to buy the domain name?

But I have no idea who to contact, I am guessing customer support would not have a clue what I am on about.

Any ideas on how to find someone who would? MD? I don't want to be seen as soliciting spam.

Thanks!

MD won't look at it unless it's an independant garage.

You have a slim chance of selling it to a company like Tesco unless it's a fully developed site. There's little money in fuel for the retailer, so I personally would try to build a site that lists all garages based on Google maps and displays their current price. Then, have a system that gives out the cheapest price in your area?

I thought about that but PetrolPrices does that already and from what I can see they are an authority site ;/

Thank's for the tips. I still have the domain, been too busy with my primary business to try anything... will report back soon!

Just get the contact details of as many fuel companies you can from google, yell, whitepages etc. Contact them through email wait then follow with fax if no reply. You never can know who would be interested and to what use they might put it. According to DaveLeeds you are on pg2 so point this out to them that with a little extra effort the site would be on pg1 and can be redirected to any of their sites or whatever else to bring more value to their web presence

You have nothing to lose in trying.
