Hi everyone,

I recently bought Arcade Archives - Homepage it has been a games site for approx 5 years, so decided to bring it back to life, have added some great games (approx 1300), I would really appreciate some feedback and I am thinking of spending a bit of time and money on this one, I really want to bring it back to life as it was quite an early games site.

Kind Regards
Leon

Hi Leon,

Your site seems to have a wide variety of games and it could become a good site. Here are just a few thoughts.

1) I would be tempted to put a link to all the categories (Action, Arcade, etc.) somewhere near the top. This way visitors won't need to scroll down to find the games they like. They will see it right away.

2) How will you attract users to the site? My feeling is that there isn't enough content to be well referenced in search engines. Perhaps you could increase this by expanding on game descriptions, game categories or one or two good news articles?

3) Will people be able to post their game results to facebook? People seem to like to share their results with friends, and this may attract more people to your site also.

Good luck,

AdSense isn't ideally placed, being in the header area it's very easy to ignore and would be better integrated amongst the games listings, with the background grey of AdSense the same as background grey of the page.

When you view an individual game page, you can't see the banner within the first screen without scrolling. Ideally you'd be able to see these banners with no scrolling.

I would do some SEO on the site using keyphrases "Free Flash Games", "Free Games", "Free Online Games", as they are the most important.

Some gret feedback, really appreciate your help, I am starting some more SEO this weekend and some layout changes.

I am looking forward to doing some articles on this one, finally an excuse to do some gaming related research.

Kind Regards
Leon

Hi Leon

Nice looking site! Maybe a bit too much scrolling required on the homepage though; there may be a better way to categorise the games and show thumbnails!

Also to the right of the game page there is plenty of room for either a few thumbnail links or another banner!

News section is well placed for some SEO articles, good luck with them!

I really appreciate the feedback, I will be doing more work on the site his week and looking to make some of the suggested changes.

Many Thanks
Leon
