I tried to register this for a client and failed with error

V138 Domain name contravenes

On emailing Nominet I recieved the reply

.arpa is a generic top level domain name. It is not possible to register
.uk domain names where the third level of the domain name corresponds to a
generic top level such as com.co.uk, org.co.uk, etc.

Which is fair enough I guess.

But then I noticed someone else was allowed to register it and place affiliate links on the domain selling books, chocolates, electronics via Maplins etc etc.

So whats that all about?

That makes me think of Dogma, if god is proven to make errors then the universe will unmake itself
