i def think its worth regin them, .asia will be huge IMO, asia consists of 1-2billion people but i'm not asian so wont be able to get them, but how will they check, i might just get my asian friend to buy it and transfer it to me

My thoughts are that the whole of the asia namespace is still relatively new and so it hasnt really matured to the extent that it needs a regional top level domain like the EU which is itself an economic area with it's own currency ..unlike asia

Also consider that countries such as India, and China are so enormous that they are effectively regions in themselves ... both several times bigger than the cluster of EU nations


And then

Language and more importantly alphabet

Chinese characters v Hindi V Udru V Thai v Japanese

All different


That said a generic is probably still worth it!

crap extension imho. Complete farce it even being approved.
Having said that, even though I really can't see an end user market for several years, if ever, a lot of people have made a good amount of money on the reseller market with .eu and .mobi etc.
In short, I might find a way to grab a couple, but I won't be spending all my poket money...
