When you register a domain name, you accept Nominet's terms and conditions. I believe this is included in the T & C. I guess if you don't want your details published, don't use it for commercial gain or don't register it.

I think that a PO Box may be a good option ... although I recall hearing that a person who wants to discover the true address of a PO Box owner, can simply fill a request form in, hand it in at a Post Office and then the Post Office will reveal all ...
