Bank Card Reader ?

has anybody had any difficulties in setting this thing up ?

I was sent one about two weeks ago from my Bank and i have been locked out of my bank account for the last fortnight..

simple process :

slide card into card reader and match details with business card.....check

press identify button and enter pin.....check

key the pin into card reader and press......check

once you have entered pin correctly your card reader will show an eight digit number.....check

this is your passcode........ohh no it isn't.....dohhh

has anybody else had any problems with this technology ???

Right pain in the ar*e. Takes about 3/4 times longer to pay invoices.

how do's it know that the card reader is for my account ? it doesn't connect to the internet it must bring up codes from my account ? i could have somebody elses reader and whatever code is issued will be incorrect...

no Lloyds TSB....because i was locked out due to numerous attempts with incorrect details they sent me a letter saying they was going to send me another letter which i would need to sign and send back and then they would need to confirm the details before sending me another passcode

Can use anyones card reader from the same bank, I think it reads the card chip and matches it up with details stored on their online system.

I guess they will know if you get it wrong too much due to inputting the incorrect code too many times... not a fan of the readers personally, extra hassle.

I read recently that a Nationwide card reader works for Tesco bank and visa versa, so I would assume any card reader would work for any other bank.

i have always wondered why banks don't ask you to register one I.P address and if you change I.P carrier then register that I.P address ,i think if you still have dial-up do's that change every time you log in though ???

i am so bored finished all my projects and cannot buy domains....i am fed up with gaming now

The Natwest one is ace, hard to set up but it works good, I don't understand how it connects though, no bluetooth, no infrared and no cables I think it works by magic :razz:

Yes he is set apart from ordinary people and treated as endowed with supernatural, superhuman, or at least specifically exceptional powers or qualities. Hence he can get the bloody things to work ...?
