Bitcoins?

Bitcoin is a digital currency that enables instant payments to anyone, anywhere in the world.

Bitcoin has no central issuer, instead the peer-to-peer network regulates Bitcoins balances, transactions and issuance according to consensus in network software. Bitcoins are issued to various nodes that verify transactions through computing power, it is established that there will be a limited and scheduled release of no more than 21 million coins, which will be fully issued by the year 2140.

Lol sorry Wayne couldn't resist - I copied and pasted that from the website in your signature, you know the one....bitcoins.co.uk...the one you own ;)

LOL I didn't even realise

Ha ha I guessed ;) as for the question about £1k in bitcoins or £1k in cash, I would take the cash as the bit coins may turn out to be like magic beans - you will probably throw them out of the virtual window, but no beanstalk will grow for you to climb ;)

It's a very interesting concept. Used to mine the bit coins - it's very tough and requires brute force computation which is a function of time and energy. I know some people in the early days made a mint from these coins because they were easier to generate...

These days, I can't help feel that 1k in bit coins could cost 1k in electricity to generate!

Many people speculate on bitcoins! Not me though, although friends think it could be worth a long term punt!

Some of the setups people have to mine them are insane!! here is a small one

Keep hearing more and more about these things. Just had an email saying name.com is going accept them as a payment method.
Did you not even take a percentage in coins it seems 1 coin is worth £30 are they easy to sell

You Buggers - Recognising the term, I had to at least go and find-out what its all about.

one hour later - I'm worried to say that it all appeared to make logical sense. And as if I haven't got enough to be getting on with

Been thinking about putting a bit of money in to Bitcoins lately, have to do a bit more research though.

I wouldn't go risking too much money on it mate, it's pretty unstable. Plus it's not easy to actually get money into an account to buy them in the first place, most of the main exchanges have had their UK bank accounts shut down!

This is a bit of a bump, but has anyone invested in some bitcoins on here?

Wish I did do what I said a few posts ago - oh well.

I want to buy some bitcoins but it seems a bit complicated to get started. If anyone uses bitcoins and needs some content let me know ;)
