That's very impressive! Is that a hosting company server connection, or a home/office connection? If the latter, I'd be interested in knowing which company you're using...

With a ping of 7ms, and the ISP reading as UUNET, i'd imagine it was a server in a data center somewhere!

You should be okay with a pipe that size...

Virgin Media 10Mbit Connection

Had to visit an ISP yesterday who was talking about dsl contention, he said on each of their 622mbit pipes they run at around 20,000 users, he mentioned that TalkTalk on the same sized pipe run around 200,000 users, now you know why they can offer broadband so cheaply.

You should be okay with a pipe that size...

Yeah problem is though, poor single parent and the inside of the pipe is all rusty so the little rats cut their feet transfering my data

A 622 won't be able to handle 200k sessions afaik, so probably a bit of exaggeration there! However, he's not far wrong. For the cheaper providers, it's a numbers game, overselling the capacity, and hoping people don't use it. The 'unlimited' broadband providers are struggling now that iPlayer etc is in use a lot, as they didn't bank on that: Finally, ISPs pay the price for ‘unlimited’ claims - seenit.co.uk
