My friend bought a designer handbag online

She just received it and it's a fake

Looking at the website it looks none to great so not sure why she didn't cotton on, the whois says its registered to someone in China

If she asks them directly for a refund and they refuse, what can she do? she paid by card so can she ask her bank to get the money back? or is she stuffed.

It's a .uk domain, I emailed the actual brand so hopefully they will DRS is and get it taken down (they use their brand name in the domain name with hyphens)

If its a credit card, email and ask for a refund, if they refuse credit card company will be insured for "not as described" and will refund it.

If its a debit card, it can be a minefield, but always worth hitting the bank. Generally you have to show you tried to resolve it directly before the bank will take it on.

If its a credit not a debit card she may well be protected but with banks she may well be screwed.
