I am in the middle of buying a name but the seller has never heard of Nominet and has no clue as how to transfer the name to me
Can anyone give me the simplest directions to pass on to him?

Cheers

Cheers Ferryman, I did send him to there but he cant belive that this has to be done, he thinks its just a 123-reg transfer GGGRRRRR!!!

Is it possible to ask him to make a temporary password for his Nominet account and let you log in and do the transfer for him ?

If they have more than 1 domain this may give access to all domains.

Most joe bloggs sellers I buy from don't have a clue about nominet but a quick link to the nominet site normally does the trick

Just waiting for a reply to say hes sorted Nominet out, could be a long wait........................

If he transfers the name to your 123-reg account, that will auto update Nominet and Nominet will place that name in an account on it's own.

You can then do a password reminder to yourself.

ah the good old bit of a sale / purchase and then they ask so what do i need to do to proceed? Sometimes i dread this part. To be fair some people listen and pick it up really quick after realising its not all that difficult. Others drag on for weeks, upteen emails after they think they know better because they have been doing this for "20 years plus mate".

Then if thats the case don't tell me a registrant transfer isn't required and its the long way round... thats fine if you want me to still own the domain after i sell it to you.

Easiest and quickest way is above.

hmm

well done mate making a video , this is the problem with the industry

not many people understand domains, let alone a transfers process

and until its been done in a really really simple way how do we expect end users

to feel secure enough to buy our domains .

have nominet got a hand holding step by step video tutorial , if not why not

Another Steve rant Sorry lol
