When checking google sitemaps I had a message from google saying they had removed one of my forum pages from the search engines following a cease and desist notice.

I've looked at the thread and someone asks for details about a particular training company and if their courses are any good. In one of the replies someone mentions that thye have over 50 people in a class at anyone time. Another member mentions they threaten legal action on everyone.

I sent an email to the company asking for reasons, and they've asked for a mailing address for legal correspondence, which I've replied to..

So I'm waiting for this letter to appear.

I'm surprised though that google drop a page easily without as I can see and way to get it back up.

anyone else suffered this?

My pan is to make another thread letting members know that this particular company has issued a cease and desist about another thread and to say we do not want to discuss their training courses and methods on the forum..

Let members make up their own minds

Wow bloody hell mate, that is a bit harsh. Why didn't the government just do that with the wikileaks debacle.

Only answer is of course is to publish it in so many places that their lawyers will be putting out forest fires with a hose pipe.

Stick a link on avoid.co.uk as well mate, always good to name and shame these bullies, sure that will go down well :D

That is seriously harsh, and they must really check their company profile to find that thread.

It would be covered under law by "fair comment", thats if they are threatening legal action using the libel law, as long as that member believed that to be true at the time of posting then there is nothing the company can do.

Stick with it Mally.

There are dozens of these companies operating, if they are the same ones I'm thinking about that is.

One minute they offer gas training next minute it's energy inspectors and even learn how to design games. People spend thousands and when it comes to sign you off they delay and make up more courses you need before they qualify you.

training has always attracted the best and worst so won't be solved easily.

Whats the link?

its only one page removed from search
dont waste your time on google scum
your time is worth more and will be lucky to even hear from them

bottom line people can still find page by drilling down
put a banner on homepage (the most visited page) directing them to this exact page thats been delisted :D
one click and there

its when hosting companies take down sites and servers on back of one letter from nobodies, or anyone come to that

not happened to me yet, but to many friends

i have a hard hitting political site (another ) coming in new year, and i'm using same hosting company as wikileaks new hosting co. for the info site mirroring, russian company
also transferring domain to russian registrar
try taking those suckers :D

the truth will out.........

(i'll use another site to criticise russia, they'll be the only ones to escape on this site lol)

don't worry Barry, i'll be using you in the whois :D

nb: as it's user generated content, i'm guessing you're fine, as long as theres nothing too outrageous
from what you've said its nothing
there has to be some sort of counter complaint you can make about them to their ombudsman etc or legal ombudsman complaining about heavy hitting tactics

im guessing they have tried to contact your hosting company to take down and been ignored if theyre this heavy handed
amazed google even took action tbh or got back to them, as google are pig ignorant and incredibly arrogant

Bloody hell mate, hope I don't upset you. :D I thought I was bad.....

They normally cite why libel, copyright, trademark etc when someone has requested something be removed when they have contacted us in the past? They've always given a reason ? Was it a is it a UK or tld. Did they send a standard DMCA Complaint…?

http://chillingeffects.org/ is good for general info, replies etc what ypu need to request it be re-instated etc.

Going Offshore can stop the hosting etc being taken down and in some countries would also possibly stop the “local” g searches in that county from blocking you? Have you used g dance to see if its blocked/not index etc in other countries?

Rhere are a number of companies that don’t like anyone to voice or have an opinion about them other than there official one... Maybe not bothering to contact host etc and are just firing legal letters straight across to g uk ? Strange because if they send a “legal letter” (I use the term loosely because letters on legal firm headed paper with no legal content at all sent to hosting companies most will just roll over and remove hosting? They either have no interest in occurring any legal costs or questioning the validity of the complaint or no real legal departments..?
