Am trying to transfer a domain to someone in US but they can't find a tag to put on the nominet form.

Can anyone help with this?

The domain was with 1and1 [schlund] but neither 1and1.co.uk or .com can take this domain from the US citizen - billing and policy reasons from 1and1

Does anyone know of a decent host they can use?

Also should we transfer the name then have the papers sent to nominet?

Thanks for help

Shouldnt be a problem my brother lives out in Texas and uses 1&1. But TBH any registrar/TAG should be fine where ever they are.

I don't know if it's a recent change in policy, but 1 and 1 have said flat out on both uk and us contact numbers that they cannot handle .co.uk's for a us citizen with us billing address.

It's not a leagal or nominet rule, just a 1and1 rule it seems

Some of the other registrars that I've visited either have the same rules, or before any transfer of a domain can take place, the person that I'm transfering to must have previously ordered a domain through that registrar... really strange.

Plus there are so many tags on nominets list that it's hard to make out which are selling domains and which are just tag holders for their own reasons?

If there are any americans on here that can give me the name of a website that the other person can use, that's a reasonable price, and they don't have to have had previous orders with, then I'd appreciate it..

What Domain Extensions Can I Transfer?

We can transfer domains with, .COM, .NET, .ORG, .INFO, .BIZ, .US, .MOBI, .TV, .NAME, .CC, and .EU extensions.

I was just thinking that my godaddy addon above might not be applicable, because they are saying they can't transfer because of nominet, but technically I might be able to have this happen if they are a tag holder... I know in the past I couldn't get this to work though...

hmmm, a bit stuck:confused:
