.com and .net

What's the usual proceadure when a domain expires? I know nominet allow 90 days but with .com and .net are you allowed any time or is it straight deleted there and then?
 
Here is the basic rule:

Deletion Cycle

However some registrars like Enom are auctioning off the domains now at 29 days RGP.

You can work out a .com and .net drop by adding 6 days to Last whois Update date in PENDINGDELETE
