I have a few .coms which show my details which I'd like to hide. Do I have to use my registrar to add the privacy? or is there any other options? cheaper?
plus if the domains are due for renewal in the next month or 2 what happens if I pay for privacy now? is it a one off cost?
cheers

Most that charge do so per year and per domain and its not transferable…. A lot of the bigger USA ones offer it free or you often get a free code…

If your moving to a new registrar check what there fee’s are to change to another some its free some charge its worth just opening an account to see what there control panels are like? (How much control you have i.e.DNS, A records, MX etc ) That they have a helpline and if its is free, local rate, premium, (usa ones that they also have uk based number)

Some charge less the first year more for renewals and maybe cheaper.com but more expensive org, net etc . Google them see what ones offer discount codes, less bad feed back

mine are currently with fasthosts but it's cost me £5+ for one years privacy on top of the domain renwal cost.

Unless there is a specific reason for your .TLD (com .net .org) reggged with uk company I would never reg them in the uk, USA companies charge around $ 7-$9 TLD (Those that charge for private whois around $2… ) With your domains and private whois your paying $22 double….…

Try name.com there are always plenty of discounts vouchers for them used them over 10 years and found them good (there is a code for freewhois with them?)

If you want cheap limedomains (Own limewire in india I think) Cheapest atm I know $5.99 new reg (thinks its $7.99 transfer) free hosting, email etc. They even do com, net, org package for the $25
